Hussain Al Nowais
Hussain is a UAE national with over twenty-five years of experience in banking, finance, investment, industries and projects development and has been actively involved in setting up of new businesses and the acquisition of ongoing business, primarily in the Gulf States and the Middle East. He is currently a board member and/or Chairman of several governmental institutions in Abu Dhabi such as: Abu Dhabi Economic Development Council, The General Holding Corporation, Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones, Abu Dhabi Securities Markets, Abu Dhabi Ports Company, National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), Emirates Iron & Steel Company.
He is also a board member and/or Chairman of the following publicly listed companies; Waha Capital, AlDhafra Insurance Company, Shuaa Capital, Investbank and Arab Technical Construction Co. and is Chairman, Vice Chairman or Director (as the case may be) of the following private companies: Emirates Holdings, Rotana Hotels & Real Estate Investment Company, Abraaj Capital, and Abu Dhabi National Industrial Projects.
Hussain graduated in 1979 with BA in Business Administration with emphasis on Finance from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, United States. He has attended various executive management courses at INSEAD in France and the London Business School and is a member of the Advisory Board of Zayed University.
